What is Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid?
Glycolic acid is made from sugar cane and is a superficial peeling agent. It is considered as the most active and beneficial of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA). It improves skin tone and texture after repetitive and continuous use. Once inside the skin’s cell, glycolic acid will serve as a catalyst for the formation of new collagen and reduces the appearance of wrinkles on the skin’s surface. Glycolic acid has been proven to effective treat hyperpigmentation, melisma, acne and oily skin.

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) derived from sour milk. It is a non-irritating rapid exfoliate. Lactic Acid is recommended for those who are new to peel and exfoliating agents in skin care products, as well as those who have used other exfoliates for a long time and want to improve results. It is ideal for sensitive skin or skin unable to tolerate glycolic acid. Benefit of Lactic acid includes helping to eliminate germs, toxins and dead skin cells from the skin’s surface. It also helps to maintain the skin’s pH factor. Lactic acid occurs naturally in the skin and is a primary component of the skins natural moisturizing factor and so less harsh and more moisturizing than Glycolic Acid skin peels.

How does Glycolic Acid/Lactic Acid Combination Peel work?
Because glycolic acid has small molecule, it can penetrate easily below the stratum cornea level and stimulate the underlying collagen. On the other hand, lactic acid is an effective and gentler AHA and can draw moisture toward the surface of the skin so the skin is not easily dries out. The glycolic/ lactic acid combination works synergistically to exfoliate the skin while reducing irritation and dryness. You can control the effect of the peel by controlling the application time (longer time on the skin, deeper penetration), or increasing the frequency of application. The skin will look more youthful and vibrant by accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibers in the dermis.

Why buy from Naked Face?
Our Porcelain Skin Glycolic Acid/Lactic Acid peels are made from high purity, medical grade ingredients. We do not add any unnecessary fragrances, preservatives and colors. Our new formulation is enhanced by multiple ingredients, effective treat hyperpigmentation, melisma, acne, wrinkles and oily skin.

Will my skin “peel”?
Each individual responds to peel differently. While many people do notice visible peeling or sloughing frequently, exfoliation is at a cellular level and not apparent to the naked eye. However, the peels will create a tighter and firmer complexion and appearance. Each individual’s different responses are related to skin’s physiology, hormones, environment and skin hydration. Reduce the contact time of you next application if you notice frosting or reddening of the skin.

How many peels are in each bottle?
The bottle contains 2 oz or 60 ml glycolic acid peel. The exactly number of peels varies depending on the area and applicationof the peel.
